Khalifa Kush, also known as KK, Wiz Khalifa or Wiz Khalifa OG, is a hybrid marijuana strain that was bred specifically for the rap artist Wiz Khalifa. This strain is believed to descend from an unknown OG strain. The ‘real’ Khalifa Kush was originally unavailable to the public, but has since been made available in limited amounts through select partners. The effects and aromas of Khalifa Kush are similar to that of OG Kush: sour lemon and pine, with an active cerebral buzz ideal for morning and daytime use.

Khalifa Kush is an Indica-dominant hybrid (80/20 Indica) with THC levels that are off the charts – regularly testing between 26 and 29 percent. A child of OG Kush, its CBD content is about 2 percent.
Khalifa Kush is Wiz Khalifa’s brand of cannabis. The rapper and Colorado-based RiverRock company are marketing the strain as one with a relaxing but energizing effect. Khalifa sometimes shortens the strain name to KK.

San Francisco dispensary, the Cookie Co. 415, first made Khalifa Kush popular. Wiz Khalifa said it took years to develop the rare phenotype of OG Kush. They started from seed, with Khalifa personally testing the product, eventually giving his blessing. Genetics are still top secret, and legend has it that the real Khalifa Kush is much stronger than found at the dispensaries, and reserved just for Wiz.
The taste and smell are like OG Kush, but Khalifa wanted it bred for a lemony flavor and pine notes, not earthy traits, although the weed retains undertones of a pungent smell.
The strain is known for its stimulating effects, making it perfect for a wake and bake session or a midday session. Breeders designed the strain for uplifting cerebral effects accompanied by a relaxing body effect. The effect on the body is without heavy sedation, which should appeal to recreational users along with the high THC content. Lightweights and new users should use caution with this potent herb.
The lack of strong sedation makes the strain suitable for mild and moderate medical conditions such as fatigue, stress, anxiety, and depression while the high CBD is good for more serious conditions. Khalifa Kush buds are small or medium sized, green with orange hairs, dense, and full of resin. Description
Without knowing much about what goes into this cross, it’s hard to say which elements of the breeding were picked up in the experience. It was definitely Sativa-dominant during the initial effects part, but shifted gears heavily around the mid-way point, making this feel more like a 60/40% Sativa type of hybrid experience. The structure and texture were superb, while the rest of the “bag appeal” areas were only average. This one started off rather potent but seemed to tail off majorly, with the 2nd half feeling more like residual effects than anything. Overall though, we recommend this to mid-level patients who desire a smooth-smoking Sativa hybrid that won’t keep them at peak potency for too long while also providing some quality body/mental relaxation, possibly leading to sleep (we’d suggest it as a late afternoon/early PM strain).

Appearance
Arrowhead shaped fern green calyxes, formed in loose open clusters, with burnt umber pistils, an average density of very long, thin-stalked trichomes with small heads, and a carpet of peltate trichomes and lithocysts.
Aroma
Though it wasn’t pungent really, the smell was a pleasingly fresh-smelling blend of pine (at times with a chemical bent to it), vegetation, and a light sweetness.
Flavor
There just wasn’t much to this sample taste-wise — it seemed to mostly taste like smoke. It was never unpleasant though, only taking a turn for the worse towards the very end of the session. The smoke itself was light and easy to inhale, making this a good choice for those who don’t wish to cough.
Qualities
Coming on somewhat quickly but reaching its full potency around 20 minutes into the experience, this strain started us off with a Sativa-heavy package of effects combined with some body attention. A pulsing, energetic feeling throughout the body (and radiating up into the head) combined with some burning in the eyes and a spacey mental state, making this one feel rather potent to start. Despite the energetic body presence, we had the urge to stay seated, partly to process the experience. Once that passed, it took a hard left turn at Indica and left us even more pulled into the couch, with a heavy head/eyes, slouchy posture, and the urge to lay down.

The exact genetics of this strain are unknown due to breeder secrecy, although it is widely agreed that it is an OG phenotype. This dank bud boasts a high THC level ranging from 14-22% on average and a myriad of both sativa and indica effects. Users describe The Wiz high as being super heavy for a sativa strain. You’ll feel a strong cerebral head rush felt primarily in the forehead and eyes followed by a confusing combination of feelings of motivation and calming sedation. Due to these effects, The Wiz is an ideal strain for treating conditions such as glaucoma, insomnia, chronic stress, and mild to moderate cases of depression.
